This is one book that has something for every woman
and it is 100% Biblically based. Nancy does not gloss over the truth, unlike so much in our society today. The title is the key to the contents-Lies that we have been raised on- and the TRUTH that sets us free. Satan is a Master of deception-and nothing overcomes our sin like the Truth of God's Word.

LIES WOMEN BELIEVE

I hit a wall with this book. DeMoss comes across as arrogant towards women who work outside the home expressing they have abandoned their calling. She is sheltered from the harsh realities that befall the women she talks down to. It behooves us to be practical with our cirumstances. It is wise to hone our skills and education; otherwise we are vulnerable children in a grown up world. If a woman is abandoned by divorce or death of her spouse, she must assume the role of breadwinner. God does not love these women less and what audacity! I read that DeMoss is unmarried and has no children. It is easy to preach perfection from an easy chair.

This is an excellent book. I am using it in a ladies Bible Study. Everyone attending has been touched and changed in some way. This book goes right to the heart and works on areas that you might think you don't need work on. When I first introduced this book as the "Next Topic of Study" the ladies didn't seem that interested because in viewing the Chapter Titles, they all felt they didn't need this book. Now that we are on chapter 6 they no longer feel this way and have all commented on how much they have needed this study in their lives and how much it has helped them.

Loved the book! Read it twice. Didn't agee with everything but it is apparent that Nancy strives to convey biblical truth in her writing. Our women's group did a study of this book and it actually helped save a marriage!
